New Horticulture Traineeship Program
Skillinvest has partnered with Community College Gippsland to provide a pilot Horticulture Traineeship Program in Gippsland.
The Horticulture Traineeship Program supports eligible jobseekers into paid training and employment in the Horticulture sector.
Successful jobseekers will have the opportunity to complete a Certificate III in Production Horticulture and/or Horticulture.
Candidates will undertake a traineeship full-time or part-time with participating employers.
Throughout the duration of the training both trainees and employers will be supported by Skillinvest Employment Consultants and Community College Gippsland.
Skillinvest will recruit your new team member and remain their legal employer. Host employers provide the day-to-day work, supervision and facilitate on-the-job training.
Included in Skillinvest’s service:
- Recruitment of the trainee that best matches the role
- Enrolment into the relevant RTO/TAFE course
- Handling of any Workcover claims
- Payment of trainee wages
- Provision of personal protective clothing and equipment
- Monitoring of progress both on and off the job
- Routine visits to check in
- Pastoral care
This program is delivered with the support of Agriculture Victoria and Food & Fibre Gippsland.
