Our Company
Skillinvest is seeking two motivated individuals for full-time Civil Construction Apprenticeships in Road Construction and Maintenance with the Department of Transport in Norlane. Gain hands-on experience, ongoing mentoring, and complete a 'Certificate III in Civil Construction'.

Duties

• Opportunity to work in multiple work groups with a variety of people
• Full range of road maintenance duties:
• Loading and unloading equipment
• Handling/operating hand tools and mobile equipment
• Traffic controller duties
• Operate and maintain major plant and equipment, including operating technical hardware to upload inspection, hazard and defect data
• Work in road construction and road upgrades/ traffic improvements

Skills and Experience

• Willingness to undertake a three year apprenticeship
• A current Victorian driver's licence
• Medium/Heavy Rigid licence (or must work towards obtaining)
• Ability to undertake all inherent requirements of the position (detailed above)
• Mandatory pre-employment testing, including medical assessment, drug and alcohol screening, driver history checks and reference checks.
• White Card
• Traffic management certificate (or willingness to obtain)
