Civil Construction Traineeship – Road Surfaces

Our Company

Skillinvest has an opportunity for a committed and motivated candidate to undertake a full time Civil Construction Traineeship in Road Construction, Maintenance and Surfacing with the Department of Transport in Bendigo. Our trainee will receive ongoing mentoring whilst learning on-the-job and undertaking a 'Certificate III in Civil Construction'.

Duties

• Opportunity to work in multiple work groups with a variety of people
• Full range of road maintenance duties:
  • Loading and unloading equipment
  • Handling/operating hand tools and mobile equipment
• Traffic controller duties
• Operate and maintain major plant and equipment
• Work in road surfacing

Skills and Experience

• Willingness to undertake a three-year traineeship
• A current Victorian driver's licence
• Medium/Heavy Rigid licence (or must work towards obtaining)
• Ability to undertake all inherent requirements of the position (detailed above)
• Mandatory pre-employment testing, including medical assessment, drug and alcohol screening, driver history checks and reference checks.
• White Card
• Traffic management certificate (or willingness to obtain)
