We at Skillinvest are committed to increasing the number of apprentices and trainees within the region. We are looking for new starters in the industry or even recommencements to complete a Certificate III in Carpentry.

Skillinvest are currently seeking all interested persons for exciting, upcoming School Based apprenticeship in Carpentry based in Warracknabeal.

Duties

• Construct formwork into which concrete is poured
• Build wall frameworks (timber or metal) and roofs
• Read plans and specifications to determine the dimensions, materials required and installation
• Install metal and timber windows, sashes and doors
• Cut materials with hand and power tools, and assemble, nail, cut or shape parts

Requirements

• Genuine interest in building
• Good at working with their hands and enjoy practical work
• Able to cope with the physical demands of the job
• Good at mathematics
• Good sense of balance and ability to work at heights
• Applicants need to be physically fit
• Willingness to commit to work and study

To be eligible to receive an Apprenticeship or Traineeship and the government funding, candidates must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia. New Zealand citizens must have resided in Australia for over 6 months to be eligible.
