How Skillinvest can help you upskill.

The recreational vehicle industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in Australia. With the pandemic putting a damper on travel overseas over the past few years, many Australians are now choosing to explore their own country, and what better way to do that than with a recreational vehicle? As a result, the demand for RVs has skyrocketed, with sales reaching record levels.

This growth in the industry presents an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or grow their career in the RV industry. There are a variety of roles available, ranging from manufacturing and repair to sales and customer service. With 90% of Australia’s caravan manufacturing located in Victoria alone, the opportunities for a career in the RV industry have never been better.

One of the most exciting aspects of the RV industry is the variety of roles available. Whether you’re interested in manufacturing and assembly, service and repair, or sales and customer service, there’s a job for you. The RV industry is also highly diverse, with RVs ranging from small campers to luxury motorhomes, so there are opportunities to work on a wide range of products.

One of the best ways to start a career in the RV industry is by upskilling through a training program. Skillinvest, in partnership with the Caravan Industry Association of Victoria (CIAV) and The National Caravan Industry Training College (NCI), offer on-the-job training in two major nationally recognised qualifications: Recreational Vehicle Service & Repair (MSM31015) and Recreational Vehicle Manufacturing (MSM31115). Employers can put their employees through a traineeship in either of these courses, which provides practical, hands-on training in the skills needed to excel in the industry.

The Recreational Vehicle Service & Repair course provides training in the repair and maintenance of RVs, including electrical, plumbing, and gas systems. This course is ideal for those who are interested in working in a service or repair role, either for a manufacturer or a dealership. The course covers everything from basic repairs to complex diagnostic procedures, so graduates will be well-equipped to handle any issue that may arise.

The Recreational Vehicle Manufacturing course provides training in the manufacturing and assembly of RVs. This course is ideal for those who are interested in working in a production or assembly role, either for a manufacturer or a supplier. The course covers everything from the basics of RV construction to the more complex processes involved in assembling a finished product.

Both of these courses provide an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or grow their career in the RV industry. They offer a practical, hands-on approach to learning that prepares graduates for the real-world challenges of working in the industry. By upskilling in these areas, employees will become more valuable to their employer and have greater opportunities for career growth.

With a variety of roles available and training programs like those offered by Skillinvest, there has never been a better time to upskill and start a career in the RV industry.
