Skillinvest is seeking a motivated individual to begin a full-time Heavy Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship with Buloke Shire Council in Donald. This exciting opportunity is open to new and existing 1st to 4th year apprentices and combines on-the-job training with ongoing mentoring, while you complete a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology. You’ll gain practical experience working on heavy vehicles and equipment, building valuable skills for a long-term career in the automotive industry.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Inspect, service and repair heavy vehicles
- Repair cooling systems and radiators
- Implement and monitor environmental regulations in the automotive industry
- Attend trade school and additional training as specified by Skillinvest
IS THIS YOU?
- Genuine interest in Heavy Vehicles and Mechanics
- Willingness to commit to work and study
- Pre apprenticeship or relevant industry experience (highly regarded)
- Current driver’s licence and reliable transport (desirable)
- Willing to obtain a Police Check and/or Medical

To be eligible to receive an Apprenticeship or Traineeship and the government funding, candidates must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia. New Zealand citizens must have resided in Australia for over 6 months to be eligible.
