OVERVIEW
The AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology is a nationally recognised qualification provides learners with the skills and knowledge needed to service, diagnose, and repair heavy commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, and other large diesel‑powered equipment. The qualification focuses on practical, hands‑on training in areas like engine systems, braking systems, steering and suspension, electrical systems, and hydraulic components.
This qualification is also available for delivery as an Apprenticeship, providing learners with structured on‑the‑job training supported by formal study.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
What are the entry requirements for the AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology ?
There are no formal entry requirements for this Training Program.
All students must complete the enrolment process to undertake the training program including a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment and Pre-Training Review to ensure the training program is suitable for the student to enrol.
To be able to undertake an Apprenticeship you must be:
- 15 years or older;
- Employed with a registered employer and entered into a formal training contract through the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network.

- Test (oral, written or practical)
Upon completion of the Training Program, Students will be awarded with a nationally recognised certificate.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING/CREDIT TRANSFER
Can I get recognition of prior learning experience?
Credit Transfer (CT)
Skillinvest Ltd recognises all Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other training providers. A student may apply to have a unit of competency recognised if the unit code and title exactly matches the unit of competency for which recognition is being sought; or if the unit of competency held is superseded and equivalent to the current unit of competency.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Skillinvest Ltd recognises that people learn and acquire skills and knowledge in ways other than just formal study or current training. A person may acquire skills relevant to the work situation through non-accredited training courses, workplace training, hobbies, interests and life experience. Sometimes the skills and knowledge acquired in these ways can be applied to the current workplace tasks and roles a person is performing. The RPL process measures these previously acquired skills and knowledge against unit/s of competency.

During the Pre-Training Review and Enrolment Process, Prospective Students are informed of the Credit Transfer and RPL process and any associated fees that may be incurred.
