Student Support Services are available to help you succeed. Please find below external guidance on academic progress, personal wellbeing, and access to support networks. Whether you need advice, assistance with challenges, or someone to talk to, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for every student.

  • Ask Izzy – a comprehensive list for Food, Housing, Money, Support & Counselling, domestic and family violence help, everyday needs, health and wellbeing, advice and advocacy, work (learning and things to do).
  • Centrelink Income Information – for payments and services.
  • Federal Government – for government payment and services
  • Lifeline – a 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention service.
  • Reading Writing Hotline – a free service for adults (including First Nations) to improve their reading, writing and basic maths.
  • Kids Helpline – 24/7 free phone and online counselling service for young people aged between 5 and 25 years.
  • Headspace – free information and support for health and wellbeing, relationships, work and study, and alcohol and other drugs
  • Minus18 – Supporting LGBTQIA+ youth through events, education, advocacy and youth empowerment.
  • Reachout – Online mental health support and free apps for young people.
  • Smiling Mind – a free mindfulness and meditation app with dedicated programs for young people.
  • What’s OK at Home – a specialist family violence service.
  • genUTraining – free accredited course for adult literacy and numeracy with cognitive impairment or intellectual disability
  • Youth Central – for students aged 12-25. Helps with writing a cover letter & resume, making a budget, health and wellbeing, driving and public transport, study pathways, rights and safety.
  • Legal Aid – for assistance with legal issues in Victoria.
  • Victorian Government – for access to grants and services.
  • YSAS – to help young people overcome drug and alcohol challenges, improve mental health.
  • Community based programs offering pre-accredited training – to improve foundation skills for young people, including early school leavers and disadvantaged youth.
  • Centre for Multicultural Youth – learning support programs/homework clubs and small group tutoring for literacy, numeracy, and study skills. Helps young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds build confidence and stay engaged in education.
  • Embrace Education – a non-profit, university student-run organisation that offers free educational support to disadvantaged high school students in Melbourne.
