2nd – 4th Year Electrical Apprenticeship

Skillinvest has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate to undertake a full time Electrical Apprenticeship with Wades in Horsham. Our apprentice will receive ongoing mentoring whilst learning on-the-job and undertaking a ‘Certificate III in Electrotechnology’.

Duties

  • Read electrical diagrams and plan layouts of wiring systems
  • Test, locate and repair electrical malfunctions
  • Install and assemble electrical and electronic systems and equipment as required
  • Connect electrical equipment to power supplies, switches, outlets, circuit breakers etc.
  • Assist to carry out installation of solar PV systems and other standard commercial and residential electrical work
  • Use of a variety of technical equipment and tools

 

Skills and Experience

  • Enjoy mathematical and technical activities with an aptitude for mechanics and electronics
  • Good eyesight (may be corrected) and normal colour vision
  • Logical thinking and diagnostic ability
  • Able to do precise and detailed work while working independently or as part of a team
  • Able to cope with the physical demands of the job and the ability to work at heights
  • Good communication skills
