Skillinvest is seeking a motivated individual to commence a full‑time, 24‑month Agriculture Traineeship based at Longerenong College. This traineeship offers a unique opportunity to combine hands‑on farm experience with structured, supported study, enabling you to gain a nationally recognised Certificate III in Agriculture.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • All areas of sheep management, including feeding and stock health
  • Sheep handling, often with current equipment and assisting contractors
  • Cropping and pasture establishment and management
  • Property maintenance

IS THIS YOU?

  • Genuine interest in livestock and mixed farming
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
  • Be physically able to carry out manual and heavy work
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Handle animals with confidence and patience
  • Able to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions
  • Willingness to commit to work and study
  • Willing to obtain a Police Check and Working With Children’s Check
  • Current Manual driver’s licence and reliable transport (desirable)

ABOUT LONGERENONG COLLEGE

Longerenong College, established in 1889 is located 13km north-east of Horsham in the Wimmera. The College has had a long and proud tradition as one of Victoria’s leading agricultural education and training providers. Since 2006, Longerenong College has been part of Skillinvest Limited’s private registered training organisation (RTO) which has not-for-profit status. The College is now one of the few training organisations in Victoria that provides extensive training facilities, accommodation and catering and a commercial farm of 1,100 hectares in the one location.

To be eligible to receive an Apprenticeship or Traineeship and the government funding, candidates must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia. New Zealand citizens must have resided in Australia for over 6 months to be eligible.
