Love food and want to turn your passion into a career? The Bull & Mouth Hotel in Horsham is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join our busy and experienced kitchen team.

This is an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining a nationally recognised Certificate III in Commercial Cookery while working alongside skilled chefs in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You’ll develop practical cooking skills, learn industry best practice, and build the foundations for a rewarding career in the culinary industry.

Whether you’re a recent school leaver or looking to start a new career path, this apprenticeship will provide hands-on experience, ongoing mentoring, and the opportunity to grow within a respected local venue.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Assisting with the preparation, cooking and presentation of a variety of menu items
  • Learn a range of cooking techniques, food preparation methods and kitchen operations
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards
  • Assisting with stock control and daily preparation tasks
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures
  • Working a roster that includes split shifts

  • Willing to work a flexible roster, including split shifts
  • Willing to obtain a National Police Check and work a flexible roster, including split shifts

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION

To be eligible to receive an Apprenticeship or Traineeship and the government funding, candidates must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia. New Zealand citizens must have resided in Australia for over 6 months to be eligible.
