Skillinvest is seeking an enthusiastic part time school-based apprentice to join a well‑established Horsham bakery and learn the craft of baking from the ground up. This part‑time, 2 days a week apprenticeship, is the perfect opportunity to gain hands‑on experience, work toward a nationally recognised qualification, and build a rewarding career in a supportive, community‑focused environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Assist with preparation of a variety of breads, pastries, and baked goods
  • Operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofers under supervision
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic workspace, including cleaning equipment and tools
  • Help with stock rotation, ingredient preparation, and monitoring inventory levels
  • Provide friendly customer service when required

IS THIS YOU?

  • Genuine interest in baking, food preparation, and working in a fast‑paced kitchen environment
  • Willingness to learn and complete a Certificate III in Baking as part of the apprenticeship
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to developing strong work habits
  • Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and maintain high hygiene standards
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team‑focused attitude
  • Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and peak periods as required

To be eligible to receive an Apprenticeship or Traineeship and the government funding, candidates must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia. New Zealand citizens must have resided in Australia for over 6 months to be eligible.
