Through Skillinvest, this position with the Horsham Rural City Council will provide an opportunity to succeed in this trade through a great team environment, the love of the outdoors and hands on work. You will be mentored through each step but also given freedom to grow in your passion. We have a strong local commitment to our region and wish to provide outstanding facilities to our community.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Maintain lawns and gardens through regular mowing, planting, and weeding.
- Creating and maintaining public spaces
- Ensure plant health by watering, pruning, and addressing signs of disease.
- Use, maintain and clean gardening tools and equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
- General property maintenance as required

- Willingness to learn use of hand power tools, whipper snippers and sprayers.
- Must obtain a Police Check and Working With Children’s Check

To be eligible to receive an Apprenticeship or Traineeship and the government funding, candidates must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia. New Zealand citizens must have resided in Australia for over 6 months to be eligible.
